Fashion designers : Thierry Mugler

-

In the 1980s, Thierry Mugler gained international renown and his creations, inspired by the femme fatale, met with significant commercial success. He innovates in forms as much as in materials and plays with leather, metal, vinyl… He became a “superstar” designer with his architectural creations for “superwomen” with high heels and square shoulders, which are a notable source of inspiration – or copies – for the fashion of that time. His creations equaled his fashion shows, conceived as shows in their own right, made him one of the designers of the 1990s who raised fashion to the rank of visual art.
