Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani, better known as Valentino, was trained in France by the couturier Guy Laroche. He opened his fashion house in Rome and met with success by signing, in 1968, his second collection, the “White Collection”, dedicated to Jackie Kennedy. The following year, the couturier designed a lace dress for her wedding to Aristotle Onassis. In 1975, he began presenting his ready-to-wear collections in Paris. The couturier signs his creations with a big “V”.
