Yves Saint Laurent
In 1961 Yves Saint Laurent was preparing to launch his fashion house with Pierre Bergé, supported by the U.S. financial Mack Robinson. Pierre and a journalist from Life magazine spent five weeks behind the scenes of the preparation of his first collection. An event. Pending the final installation in the house of the Rue Spontini, Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent were working in the former workshops of designer Manguin. A final floor accessible by stairs. “If everything was done in a hurry, nothing was improvised, everything was thought out. Between two moves, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé had all developed in the greatest secrecy, mirrors to the door handles. They had the courtesy to forget us all this time and in the end, we arrived without even saying hello, not to disturb. This young man of twenty-six fascinated us. Every morning, we saw a model with a new dress, sublime. We exclaim, but Yves Saint Laurent did not flinch: it was normal. ”
Subsequently Pierre had several occasions to photograph them. In 1998 Alexandra took over those thirty years of loyalty.
