The Danube

-

Throughout its course, the legend is woven history marked by eastern invasions of Attila and of Suleiman the Magnificent, the mythology with Nibelungen and a fabulous musical memory. Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, French, all of Europe fighted, torned, massacred, divided, shared throughout the river flowing peacefully today at the foot of abbeys and castles and parades’ locks. The last works that change the course of the river are the result of an old ambition that Charlemagne had only sketched in his dreams considering linking the Rhine to the Danube. Thanks to Channel Europe the river, connected to the river Rhine, will be a navigable artery from the Black Sea to the North Sea.
